Colin has had a very eventful life so far. Before he was three weeks old, he was heard screaming in the night. One 3am rush to the vets later, and he was found to have a broken jaw - we think his mum must have accidently kicked or trodden on him. He needed to have his jaw bandaged up to stop him from moving it so that it could heal. As this meant he would not be able to feed from his mum, he needed a tube that went down his nose and into his stomach that would have to stay in all of the time (taking it in and out too much would of damaged his nose and throat) so he had to have a collar on to stop him pulling the tube out with his feet. He also couldn't live with his brothers and sisters anymore in case they decided to pull the tube out for him. As he could not feed from his mum, he had to be fed a formula milk which was drawn up into a syringe and fed to him via his tube. This had to be repeated every 4 hours to ensure he was being fed enough and he was weighed every other day to make sure he was still putting weight on. After a few repeat trips to the vet after pulling his tube out, 10 days later the vet decided to see if he was able to lap at the milk. Luckily Colin managed it fine so he was able to leave the collar and tube off. However, he still had to live in the house, away from the rest of his family whilst his jaw was still healing in case they knocked it again, although he visited them regularly whilst being supervised so that they would not forget him. Also, he could then feed from his mum, which is better for him than the formula. A couple of weeks later, he was allowed back with the rest full time. The picture with the teddy is of colin in his cage in the house whilst his jaw was still healing.

Now, you would not know that there were any problems with Colin at all, his jaw has caused him no further problems and he can even eat bones just like his brothers and sisters.

That was Colin then, and this is him now (see below). Colin had a years break in his racing career recovering from injury. However after a few races his wrist started troubling him again and so he is now retired and will be coming home to live with Patsy (Noahs Lucky Pat).
